The flamingo was given the nickname "Pink Floyd."
Pink Floyd, along with another flamingo, escaped their enclosure 17 years-ago due to their feathers not being clipped. The storm took place right before.

Having unclipped wings along with the storm made it easy for the birds to fly away. Attempts made to catch the flamingo were unsuccessful.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife agency made posts on social media on March 25 of Pink Floyd walking on a strip of land in the cape's Cox Bay, near Port Lavaca.
The flamingo was able to be identified because of an old leg band its wearing with the number 492. That is the same number that was given to Pink Floyd in 2004.

Within the 17 years span, the bird has visited multiple states.
